Actually forgot about the league cup semi which was actually my 21st birthday weekend
Really left s sour taste that one . That season was compounded by relegation

Re: An Irrational Hatred of Luton
Only been to Luton twice. The first was going to a club my mate was DJing at and getting knocked back at the door, driven up from East London.
The second was returning from Spain only to find out that my case had been put on a flight to Cardiff. Not fond memories.

Got to agree with some on here who have already mentioned the 3-2 defeat in the cup game in the replay there was gut wrenching. I remember the end of the match some arsehole in the little excuse for corporate boxes was waving his arms about and goading us until about fifty of us tried to get over the seats to get to him at which point he made a swift exit.

The league cup semi defeat at home is probably in my ten worst home defeats I’ve had the displeasure to witness as well, seem to remember season tickets being thrown on the pitch at the end

Fucked us over a few times as people have said
The league in 85/86
The cup when we would have played Chelsea in the semi was very hard to take

Kenilworth Road hasn't really improved much since Millwall's infamous visit

For a team that was fucked over twice by the league and have come back strong, i say well done. Always had a soft spot for the Hatters. Good support even when out of the league. Millwalls visit to Luton next year will be interesting.

I lost my West Ham baseball cap at Luton on the way to the ground.

On the way back I found the hat again some kindly soul had
Placed it in a fence. The spirit of the Hatters.

Still fuckin lost though.

Darby_ I wake up everyday thinking about him.

There has been lots of shit as West Ham over the years that has pissed me off but has soon been forgotten. The fact that that slime ball infested our club will always be a stain that I can’t get over.

I also follow Cold War Steve on social media - every one of his pictures features Allardyce, a fray bentos pie and cilla black. Have a look.

Re: An Irrational Hatred of Luton
I have horrible memories of Luton back in the 80’s and early 90’s. The aforementioned cup matches were amongst some of our worst results, but the 1-2 loss at home to them in the Texaco Cup in 74 (I hated their cockiness that night) and the 0-5 McKnightmare in the Full Member’s Cup were also atrocious.

Luton were one of those little provincial clubs that always seemed to have a jinx over us, very much like Oldham, Reading, and now Bournemouth, back in the day.

Re: An Irrational Hatred of Luton
Sorry, I'll always hate Luton Town FC, bogey team like no other, even in 1980-81 season when we only lost 4 league games all season 2 of them were to Luton.
